Green Board

Overview

The Green Board advises the Governing Body in promoting, aiding, encouraging, and constructing parks, including the development of park facilities and programs and the creation of operational policies of the park system. The Governing Body refers all major proposals pertaining to public parks and facilities to the Green Board, which then studies and makes reports and recommendations to the Governing Body.

The group also studies, develops, annually updates, and administers a written plan for the care, planting, culture, and removal of trees and shrubs on land owned or managed by the City.

A paper recycling program, comprehensive park master plan, and promotional materials are among the Green Board's accomplishments.

The Green Board consists of five members who serve three-year terms. The majority of the members must be residents of the city of Spring Hill.
