Paper Recycling Program

What is the Paper Recycling Program?

The program is a simple and free service for the Spring Hill community to use for paper recycling. Distinctive green and yellow Paper Retriever bins are provided to interested parties who encourage the community to bring their paper and put it into a convenient drop off location. The City is not charged for the bins or the pick-up of paper. In fact, Paper Retriver pays its partners for the paper collected in each bin. Funds received from this program are placed in the Special Parks Fund which will support projects for the Green Board and Parks Department.

What can be put in the bin?

Items accepted are catalogs, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, office paper, fax paper, school paper, notebooks, and folders. Shredded paper may be placed in a bag with holes poked in the bag.

Items not accepted are cardboard, food boxes, fiberboard, chipboard, textbooks, hard cover books or phone books.

Where are the containers located?

The containers are placed in the following locations:
  • Spring Hill Civic Center - 401 N. Madison - west side of building parking lot
  • Spring Hill Community Center - 613 S. Race Street
