Council accepts bid for fiber feasibility study

Last month, the Spring Hill City Council considered a bid for a citywide fiber optic network feasibility study from CTC Technology and Energy.

The council accepted a contract with the consultant at its meeting July 27 at the Spring Hill Community Center, 613 S. Race St.

The study will include a strategic kick-off meeting, development of a system-level FTTP design and cost estimate, development of a business case for candidate network, ranges of business models, evaluation of financing and funding options and legal and regulatory considerations, development of policies and a presentation and written report. The study has an expected completion of December 2017.
